You can define up to 8 filters, and all the criteria must be satisfied for the data to display.
A filter is structured as a sentence: the subject must meet a certain condition according to the logical rule specified. The subject is one of the available parameters of the current category, the condition is a number or text that you enter or a value selected from a list, and the rule defines a comparison between the subject and the condition, such as “begins with” or “is greater than”.
To define a filter, do the following:
- Select a field from the first pop-up menu. The menu lists all the fields that are available for the current category.
- Select a rule from the middle pop-up menu. The available comparisons change according to the type of field:
- textual fields, such as names, descriptions, and tags, provide the following comparisons: begins with, does not begin with, contains, does not contain, ends with, does not end with.
- numeric fields, such as lengths and areas, provide these comparisons: equals, does not equal, is greater than, is greater than or equal to, is less than, is less than or equal to.
- object fields, such as layer, provide these comparisons: is, is not.
- Enter the condition if the field allows a textual or numeric value, or choose an item from the list. All numeric values are expressed in the default project units.
To add a new rule, click the plus (+) button.
To remove a rule, click the minus (-) button. You can remove rules at any position.
